As you all know, I’m a sucker for the older web. If you were there, you know what I mean… Recently I signed up for a free trial of Kagi search. So far it’s been great. I’ve figured out how to curate my own web experience. I can block certain sites and bump others higher in the results. It’s opened up a whole new way for me to browse the web. Now it’s more fun finding smaller sites that actually specialize in whatever I’m searching for, instead of some robotic algorithm shoving ads in my face.
Down with Google
I’ve also learned Kagi has this Small Web feature that highlights stuff from independent, lesser-known sites. It’s basically a curated collection of personal blogs and smaller websites (you can’t be Apple.com and get in, obviously). They surface recent posts from real people sharing their takes, no corporate BS.
Check it out. Kagi’s quickly becoming my favorite way to rediscover how awesome the web can be.
Let’s bring real web surfing back to the internet.
